I'm really having a tough time keeping up with all this blog stuff! I guess with all the craziness (i.e. middle school, christmas, you get the idea) I just haven't thought to keep checking.
So, here's a list of my favorite Chrismas gifts, just to keep the ball rolling.
) New iPod Touch (squee)
) Digital video camera
) $50 check from Grandma
) Bunch of new Wii games

Non-GLARGH

So, sure, I may have said that Marcelline was impossible to defeat, but with practice (and wizard powers :3), she's actually very defeatable.
In other news, I'm actually blogging from my aunt and uncle's house, using my uncle's laptop (which drives me insane, but whatever). We've got the TV on the Macy's parade. Which, despite the fact that it's a tradition, la la la, it's actually REALLY boring. I swear, the commercials are more exciting.
In continued other news, my family has decided to celebrade "festivus" this year (apparently that's from some show called Sienfeld), instead of just Christmas or whatever, since recent complications that my friends know about and I find unnecessary to post have gotten in the way of the usual celebration-type stuph.
So... yeah. Been playing around with Band Hero, which was supposed to be opened closer to Christmas, but this is festivus.
Happy Thanksgiving, and Happy Festivus!

GARGH

I'm pretty sure that anyone who watches Cartoon Network a decent amount knows about that Righteous Quest II thing from Adventure Time. Well, I tried it. And the boss level is TOTALLY IMPOSSIBLE. Because if you haven't already been killed by the candy zombies, spikes, battle cubes, rotating saw blades, or ninjas, then there's a 99.9999999999% chance that you will be epically defeated by Marcelline in the boss level. Because she can float, and she's got her evil guitar of doom that she's using to send shock waves at you, and if you even accidentally run into her, you lose health. And all you have to throw is snowballs!
Thank you for listening to my rant.

...?

So, I was randomly checking my blog's stats today, and I noticed that I've gotten a bunch of pageviews from foreign countries. Weird. I mean, it said I got about 50 pageviews from Germany. Either Blogger is messing with me, or more people look at my blog than I think. O.o

New Page!

I just discovered that I can add "up to ten stand-alone pages" to this blog! So, to the left of this post (at least while this is the most recent one) you will see a little thingy telling you about the pages. I just made one so far, but if I can come up with ideas as to others I can make, then there will be more, of course.

Halloween Randomness.

So...
It appears as if blogging has fallen by the wayside for most TBWAOCAULN members. :'( Idk. I don't really care, I just keep posting anyway.
I made a halloween special on my YouTube channel. It's sorta lame, but the animations are the best I've done yet, so here it is.

Special Halloween Post Series- Part 3- Taking a Tumble

So, this one will be randomly shorter than the rest of the posts so far, A. because no one is reading them, and B. because I'm bored. Here goes.
So, at one point during the history of the Home, somebody "fell" off a landing and died. It was suspected that someone pushed them, but there was no real evidence at the time, so it was dismissed as an accident. But now, some people who stood on the edge of doom said that they could swear they felt a hand on their back, but when they turned around... guess what? No one was there.

Special Halloween Post Series- Part 2- Black and White

Okay! So, here's the first two ghosts- Agnes and Maggie. I don't know what Agnes's background is, but I know that many people, including the tour guide and someone on the tour had seen her. Agnes is always seen dressed in a white dress, and is always smiling. She hardly even looks like a ghost, since she's opaque. The only reason why they know she's a ghost is because she's been seen many times over the history of the Home, and you usually only see her once- as soon as you look away, she's gone.
No one talked about seeing Maggie's ghost, but the tour guide said that one day, a woman showed up at the door dressed all in black, because her husband had just died. She wanted to live in the Home because she couldn't bear to live alone anymore. So, she apparently died there and has been haunting the place ever since, along with Agnes.

Special Halloween Post Series- Part I- Introduction

So... since I can't usually come up with anything worthwhile to blog about lately, I'm going to start what I call a "post series." This was mainly inspired by a "Ghost Tour" I went on yesterday, where some nutty lady told us about all the ghosts that haunt a place near where I live, which will go unnamed for the time being.
This place was originally called a "Home." That meant that anyone who, for some reason or the other, did not have a home or could not live alone went to live there. So, it was pretty much an orphanage/asylum/poorhouse/nursing home. Which meant that, for various reasons, people of all ages died there- over 500 people, actually. And some of their ghosts still supposedly haunt the place.
Each post in this series will be about a different ghost or group of ghosts. I'll probably do one a day until either I run out of ghosts to talk about, or I get bored. Guess which one will probably come first.

Quick Post!

Okay, I've got about a minute and a half to post before it's time for me to eat pizza, so here goes-
1. Band concert tonight! It's gonna be great.
2. I'm reading an awesome book right now- The Extras. It's the fourth book in the Uglies series, and I haven't read the other three, but it still makes sense to me. New main character, all that jazz.
3. On the Facebook App CafeWorld, I just discovered that there's a dish you can make called... "Vampire Staked Steak." OH, THE IRONY >_<
Anyhow, that's all I have time for.

D:

Have I seriously not posted on here since August? Sure, it was the last day of August, but still.
Anyhow... I accidentally clicked on some link thing on Facebook today that took me to something called Vampire Wars. I was (admittedly) a little intrigued, so I looked into it. That thing scares the bejeezy out of me. I mean, it was all "blood this, blood that. I am the Coven leader and you must appease me." Blah blah blah. I'll just stick with reading the Chronicles of Vladimir Tod, thanks. Not that I'm insulting whoever made it- It was just too much black and red for my brain to take in.
I can't believe it's mid-September already- I mean, what happened to the beginning of school? I'm starting to think maybe life without Middle School never existed.

This is probably a wee bit early...

Despite the fact that it's, oh, about two months away, I'm still decorating my blog for Halloween. Why? Because Halloween's my favorite holiday, that's why. What could possibly be more fun than hiding in the bushes and jumping out to scare the pants off of little trick-or-treaters? That's what 3-D and I have pretty much planned to do this year- plans may change, but anyone's welcome to join us if they want to.
That is all.

AWESHOMNESH

Nowadays, I can't wait for, oh, 11:00 or so, because that's when I get to go to bed on my brand new, awesome-looking, memory foam mattress, dark wood, awesome comforter bed! Wootage! The memory foam works great for summer because it takes a long time for it to warm up. :) I don't know what I'll do in the winter, though... :(

A Scientific Breakthrough!

Scientists have discovered a way to break the habit of a morning cup of coffee!
...Just stand in my sister's newly painted room for a minute or so, and you'll be awake in no time! Mainly due to the fact that it looks like the INSIDE of the SUN, it's so bright. Blinding orange, with a bright pink accent wall. I may never set foot in there again!

The Makeover- Day 982,001.625

Well, apparently my room and closet were so full of junk that it's taking about a week to finish cleaning. I'm almost done, though! My sister's room is devoid of all wallpaper, so now all we have to do is prime and paint. We got the paints from Home Depot today, so we're all set to really get started!
The family room renovation is finished, and it looks great! Switching from that dark red color to light green made a world of difference.
All for now,

The Makeover, Day 3

This renovation has evolved into practically a whole-house makeover! I'm typing this with "cottage white" paint on my hands, since we just finished putting the first coat on the family room trim. I gotta say, the room looks a whole heck of a lot brighter now that it's not all dark red and stuff. Not that I have a problem with dark colors (teh heh), but it's a nice change.
It sounds like the neighbors are doing some house work too, because I can hear them using a saw over there.
Not much more progress on the bedroom, though. I guess I've got to get motivated.
All for now,

-Jadis

The Makeover- Day Two

Well, multiple factors have been getting in the way of the makeover. One was a mini-vacation to Lake Erie. Now, my sister and I have to go paint "our bedroom" in a *certain condo* on the *other side of town.* And we have to be there at 11:00 AM! We don't even know when *he's* taking us home. >:(
However, 3-D's coming over for a sleepover on Tuesday, and if she wants to, she can help rip down wallpaper! X)

The Makeover- Day One

Okay, so I am totally redecorating my room. Fresh start and all that. So, here's day one. I've cleaned out a lot of stuff, though there's still more to work on. I've got some ideas about paint and carpet color, and most of the furniture (including a new awesome-looking bed!) has already been bought from Ikea, the furniture capitol of the entire universe. I am serious. My sister is doing a renovation of her room too, but suffice it to say hers is WAY different from mine. I ended up being the assembly genius of the current family, so I was mostly the one reading the instruction manual. So, after a few bloopers (like putting the bedside table together majorly wrong), the renovation has officially begun!

Woah!

I just realized the last time I blogged on here was May 31, and now it's nearing the end of June! Sure, I've been on vacation, going to the pool, sleepovers, etc. But one would think there'd be something to say. I.e. there's plenty.
Item One- I now know how it feels to be one of those kids with two houses. 'Nuff said.
Item Two- I have recently been watching a lot of the show Teen Titans, which is for some reason on Boomerang, and only on on Monday through Thursday. And on those days, there's only one episode! Argh.
Item Three- Both Bunny and LOL have been over to my house for sleepovers recently! My mom seems to be being a whole heck of a lot freer with how much forewarning she needs to get before someone comes over. Such as when LOL called at noon to ask if she could come over, and my mom agreed for her to come over an hour later!
So, my life has both bad and good in it right now, which I suppose is good for me.

Aztec Calendars- A Rant by Jadis D.

So... I was trying to do my Social Studies assignment tonight, which included putting the Aztec Calendar together. In the right order. And had I thought to get a textbook and bring it home? NO, of course not. So, I went to Google and searched "aztec calendar," And found this good-looking sight with a zillion links leading off of it, and charts, and such. But then I took a close look at the charts, and they're ENTIRELY IN ANCIENT AZTEC. Most people can't READ Aztec, fancy website-designer people!!!! I mean, how many people on this planet do you think can make any sense out of "1. Cipactli: Tonacatecuhtli. 2. Ehecatl: Quetzalcotal."
Come ON!!!
Thank you, Wikipedia, for being in English.

The Results Are In!

Yo, the poll above has closed, the votes (all 4 of them) have been tallied, and the decision is.... We should go get ice cream together over summer vacation. Which, I gotta admit, sounds awesome. Now if we can just get it so everyone can come all at once (all nine of us)... And what would be hilarious would be if, say, Sam came along, and, like, started seizuring because we were all there at once... that would be something to see.
Over and out,

How to tell that summer's coming!

Well, we've gotten some clues lately as to whether summer's coming.
1. Thunderstorms wake me up at 5 AM. :P
2. The teacher has fans on all over the place that blow your hard-worked-on science report onto the floor fifty billion times.
3. I keep running out of t-shirts.
4. Ridiculously unpredictable weather- clear sky in the morning, storms in the afternoon.
5. The pine tree out front is letting off pollen every time the wind blows. **sneezes**
Summer's fine, but it's too dang hot and sunny for my tastes.

Summer plans!

I decided, what the hey, I haven't had a poll on here in a while. So, now there IS a poll. We need to decide what we're doing over summer vacation. And, I just randomly came up with an idea... 3-D, Sam lives near you, right? We could ride our bikes in circles around the block so we pass his house every three minutes. We'd just have to make sure he's home first. Or, we could write TBWAOCAULN WAS HERE on his front walk in chalk.

We oughta learn how to play this song!

I think this would be an awesome song for TBWAOCAULN to learn how to play. It's a Disney song, and they always play it after the Epcot fireworks.
"In the stillness of the night,
There comes a time to understand,
To reach out and touch tomorrow,
Take the future in our hand.
We can see a new horizon,
Built on all that we have done,
As our dreams begin another
Thousand circles round the sun.
We go on, moving forward through the years,
We go on, through the good times and the tears,
Moving on, another thousand circles round the sun,
The good times have begun,
The two of us as one,
Moving on."

The Unknowing Dictionary

A few truly fascinating (and slightly offensive) tidbits from good ol' Webster...

weird
adjective
suggesting something supernatural, uncanny: the weird crying of a seal.
informal: very strange, bizarre: a weird coincidence.

We're gonna change that one someday.

vampire
noun
1. a corpse supposed, in European folklore, to leave its grave at night to drink the blood of the living by biting their necks with long pointed canine teeth.
figurative: a person who preys ruthlessly on others: the protectionist vampires in the Congress.
2. (also vampire bat) a small bat that feeds on the blood of mammals or birds using its two sharp incisor teeth and anticoagulant saliva, found mainly in tropical America.

How... weird.

Well, pretty much just checking in to wish everybody a happy Valentines Day. Mine has gone pretty stereotypically, what with corny cards with poetry on them from the 'rents and such.
Also, about the Spelling Bee- I got kicked out in the second round because I, ironically, couldn't spell pigeon. V-Day Dance

Yo, just giving a little report on the dance.
Whoever didn't come, you really didn't miss all that much, except for me getting stuck doing the chicken dance with my mom, and freaking LOL out by doing the Hey Macarena to songs that aren't the Hey Macarena.
But, guess who showed up, against all odds? None other than Ethan, who got in because his brother still goes to our school. So, somehow LOL, Ethan and I ended up hanging out together and just kind of tapping our feet and leaving whenever the Hoedown Throwdown came on.
So, you people who didn't go to the dance, the most exciting thing you missed were some second graders attempting to break dance.

I totally overlooked this quote from the Maximum Ride book The Final Warning most of the times I've read it, but I noticed it this morning... "I missed the old days, when our only relationship was each being totally dedicated to constantly one-upping the other." LOL.

Another Change

For some reason, I can't seem to find a blog template that fits my personal sense of style. Now, if I could just figure out how to put a picture as the background, I'd be all set. If anyone knows how to do that, drop me a line.

*runs away screaming from Max-Dan-Wiz*

Have you people seen what changes they've made to the Maximum Ride site! There's these pictures of people who are supposedly Max and Fang, and there's no way to get rid of them, and they WATCH you the WHOLE time you're on the site, I swear! It's creepy!

Cent-post-ennial!

This is my blog's 100th post! Woot! Since this seems like a good time, allow me to give thanks where thanks are due.
Thanks to my mom, for letting me start up this blog in the first place.
Thanks to Viacom, for supplying such a great name for this thing.
Thanks to Nikki and Nicole (I'm pretty sure you're two different people but I'm just not sure) for following my blog even though I have no idea who you are.
And, of course, thanks to TBWAOCAULN for being the best friends a girl could ask for!

Turning Stress Into Fun!

I have decided that Valentines' Day is most likely just as stressful for us "tweens" as Christmas is for adults.
But that doesn't mean we can't get into the Valentines' Day spirit! I mean, what's wrong with generic "everybody gets pretty much the same thing" valentines that you buy at Wal-Mart? Or how about those conversation heart thingies (preferably the original ones, thanks)? Or that kitschy tissue paper heart thing that I got in fourth grade and is now languishing in my closet?
What I'm trying to say is, what is stressful can also be fun.

The Dance Of Doom

Some of you may know what I'm talking about when I say "dance of doom." I mean the Valentines Dance at our school. Usually that doesn't mean anything much, but I think that this year it does. We have to face up to the fact that we are growing up. And growing up means maturing. What I'm trying to say here is that any one of us could get asked to the dance (hopefully NOT by someone of our own gender). We need to be prepared for anything!

The Wettening?

I had my own version of "the wettening" yesterday. No, I did not get hit with a giant water balloon. Actually, my dog peed on my backpack, or at least tried to. He has horrible aim.

My Very Own Fail.

My little sister spotted this, and I came up with the idea to make it into a Fail. I think it's pretty good, personally.

Aaiieeee!

I JUST WON THE SCHOOL SPELLING BEE. It was the most nerve-racking thing I've ever done in my life. And now I'm going to have to do it all over again, and this time with a bunch of complete strangers from schools all around the county. We'll see how that goes.

The "Norm"

What is normal at the TBWAOCAULN house...
~Mixx is up in her room inventing something
~Little Bunny Foo-Foo is watching television
~I am on the computer
~3-D is either reading or listening to music, or both
~LOL is trying to get LBFF to change the channel
~Piper is skipping around singing random songs she wrote herself.
Did I miss anything?

Music, music, music

Well, I guess I haven't mentioned this on my blog before (at least I don't think so) but I am, like, addicted to my iPod. I normally change favorite songs once a month or so. Right now, I'm trying to find the right version of "Somebody's Watching Me" on iTunes, but I can only seem to find 80's dance and kareoke versions. Stupid hippie 80's people. They ruin a good song.

Buzzzz...

Spelling bee! Since I didn't miss a single word on the classroom spelling bee, I get to move on to the school spelling bee! It's happy :) except for the fact that I have to miss some of PACE to be there. :(
Also, I got attacked by a cat today. I mean, that cat didn't mean to hurt me, but it didn't want to get off of my lap, so it dug its claws in. Ouchie. So, now my Little Bunny Foo-Foo scratch free jeans have cat claw puncture marks on them. Great.

The Latest- remake

Okay, I must've gotten a few things mixed up. Let's try that entry again.
Well, my dad might be moving out of the house. My mom is going to bring it up this evening, when exactly I don't know. Hopefully not during dinner. I thought he'd moved out, but he was actually going to a meeting.
Also, if you know what my dad looks like, whenever you see a white van, peek into the window. If you see my dad sitting in there, tell me! I need to know.

The Latest

The latest is that my dad has moved out of the house. That's right, my dad has moved o-u-t of the house. But I still will have to go stay at his apartment on Friday nights, I think. Not sure how I feel about that. I wonder if he knows how to find my blog...

Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow...

And snow, and snow, and snow, and snow, so we don't have school tomorrow... and so I can go play in it tomorrow...
And, by the way, if you go onto www.maximumride.com and search Jadis, you shall find me, and on my blog there is the beginning of the first TBWAOCAULN book- Seventeen Forever! Read it or die.

Eleven

I said "details at 11," so here's eleven. Long story short, my parents are splitting up. There- I put it out there. My mom gets to keep the house, so my dad will be moving out at some point, but I don't know when. But right now, it's really awkward. He keeps acting like everything's normal, when it so isn't. Who knew family life could be this weird?

*bangs self on head for not thinking of this earlier*

I totally forgot that when I asked for feedback as to what I should name my blog, that meant I would have to choose, and if I don't get much feedback, and none of them sound like something I would name a blog (not that I'm insinuating anything here, I'm speaking hypothetically) then I would probably come up with a name that I like better and that would shoot the whole "feedback" thing... snap. So... here's what I'll do. I'll make a poll. You've probably already seen it at the top of the screen. Two are feedback, one is one I made up myself. You be the jury!

edit- you know what? to heck with user feedback. I'm just going to choose a name. sorry, guys.

Greetings from 3-D's house!

Well, current events (details at 11) have led me to be at 3-D's house for a while. HI!!!!!! <- That was 3-D. While here, I was reminded of a certain poster that Mixx made, with me with my contacts drying out... I still haven't technically forgiven you for that yet, my blue-haired friend. I mean, my contacts never dry out, unless I leave them in all night or something. Or if I go swimming in them. Not a good scene.

Well, now that I am done rambling, that is all.

I've Been Thinking...

Well, I'm beginning to think that my blog needs a new title. I mean, it's a new year, and the old title just ain't cutting it. So... I need ideas! What should I name my blog?
In other news, I am going to Kalahari on Sunday with at least my mom and little sister. It is unknown wether my dad is going. (Party pooper...)
All for now,

MEH

My photo
Nowheresville, Ohio, United States
Hahaha, holy shit, it's been a long time since I've even looked at my Blogger account. Yeah ok, hi, my name's Lydia. I'm a teenager, I live in the USA, and I'm genderfluid, so call me what you wish, gender-wise. I freakin' love the webcomic Homestuck, so that's probably gonna be... a lot of what I'm blogging about, if at all. I also like drawing, listening to music, and playing with my cats.
